Instant Translation

Completely Translated Interface in Under 1 Second

The Altrio platform's translation engine simultaneously processes multiple,000 text strings, translating the entire interface in real-time when the user selects a new language. The technology uses neural machine translation (NMT) models specially trained on administrative and legislative corpora from the 27 EU member states, ensuring precise terminology and consistency between government documents. Unlike generic translations, our system recognizes and preserves specific legal terms, institution names, legislative references and exact official formulations. Translation is optimized for performance, with intelligent caching for frequently accessed content and pre-translation for static sections, resulting in response times under 1 second even for complex pages with hundreds of textual elements. Users receive instant visual confirmation of language change, with all UI elements updated simultaneously and consistently.

How the Multilingual System Works

Advanced technology for instant translation and localization

01

Select Preferred Language

The user selects the desired language from the platform menu, with options for all 24 official EU languages: Romanian, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Irish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Slovak, Slovenian and Swedish.

02

Automatic Interface Translation

The system instantly translates the entire interface into the selected language using machine learning technology specifically trained on administrative terminology. Menus, labels, help messages and notifications are culturally and linguistically adapted, maintaining terminological consistency and respecting grammatical norms specific to each language.

03

Official Content Localization

Official documents, forms, certificates and administrative communications are automatically translated with human verification for legal accuracy. The system keeps the original version in Romanian as legal reference and clearly marks automatic translations for transparency, according to legislation requirements regarding official documents.

04

Cultural Adaptation and Formatting

The platform automatically adapts date formats (DD/MM/YYYY vs MM/DD/YYYY), numeric separators, currency symbols and units of measurement according to regional standards. The system respects the cultural particularities of each language, including politeness formulas, syntactic structures and drafting conventions specific to public administration in the user's country of origin.

European Union Languages

Complete Support for All 24 Official EU Languages

The Altrio platform is the only digital public services solution in Romania with authentic support for all official languages of the European Union. Implementation respects Regulation EC 1/1958 on the linguistic regime of the Union and the Charter of Fundamental Rights (Art. 21 - non-discrimination on language grounds). Each language benefits from complete localization, not just translation, including: layout adaptation for RTL direction languages, support for diacritics and non-Latin alphabets (Greek, Bulgarian), region-specific formatting for dates and numbers and administrative terminology authenticated by native speakers. The system maintains specialized dictionaries for each language with over 15,000 terms from domains: fiscal, urban, legal, administrative and social services. Translations are continuously updated through feedback from expatriate communities and validation by certified professional translators. The platform also supports regional variants where applicable (European vs. Brazilian Portuguese, British vs. American English) for maximum accuracy.

Pilot Case Study: Multilingual Platform for International Communities

In testing scenarios with diverse communities (international students, expatriate professionals, workers from multiple countries), the platform's multilingual support demonstrated promising results: significant increase in online service access by foreign users, substantial reduction in average processing time through elimination of communication barriers, decrease in physical visits for non-Romanian users, and positive feedback from the international community. Tests processed sessions in multiple foreign languages, with English, German, French and Hungarian among the most accessed. The solution enables savings on translation and interpretation services, with continuous quality improvement through community feedback.

Multilingual Documents

Certificates and Forms Generated Automatically in Any EU Language

The system automatically generates official documents in the user-selected language, maintaining the legal validity of the act by preserving the original Romanian version as reference document. Each certificate, attestation or form includes both the translation in the requested language and the official Romanian version, both having the same registration number and electronic seal. Document templates are completely localized, respecting administrative conventions from the user's country of origin: official addressing format, structure specific to public documents, equivalent legal terminology and corresponding legislative references where they exist. For documents intended for use in other EU states, the platform can generate certifications compliant with EU Regulation 2016/1191 on public documents, eliminating the need for legalization or apostille for use in the community space. The system also includes certified translation functionality for critical documents, executed by authorized translators and marked accordingly for official acceptance in international institutions.
